Capitol Intern Program

State Capitol Intern Training Seminar
This is an intensive course in preparation to be a state capitol intern with emphasis on training to be a servant. There is more work than glamor to this course. This course is important to qualify under the Chambers College intern program to work at the Capitol if you have not taken other courses under Chambers College.

You will learn basic skills necessary for being a capitol intern such as writing, presentation skills, and Biblical servanthood.

This seminar is helpful for being effective in business or government even if you will not work at the capitol.

Location

The seminar will be held in Greeley at Reformation Baptist Church, 1300 Ninth Street. If there are 4 or more students in the Denver area, we will teach the same course in Denver.

Date and Time

Saturday, December 1, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Includes a light lunch.

Fees For the Seminar

College level credit

Homework is required to receive one hour of Chambers College credit. $75.00.

What is the Capitol Intern Program?

Chambers College has an unique opportunity for students that have an interest in the arena of politics and public policy. A select group of students have the privilege of assisting Colorado State Representatives or Senators in their offices at the Colorado State Capitol.

Intern Responsibilities

Chambers College has become well established at the capitol. Our interns are in demand. Interns serve two days per week for the legislative term that runs from January to early May. Most arrive around 8:30 a.m and work until about 4:00 p.m. There is some flexibility in the schedule.

To be assured of a position you must be registered through Chambers College, unless you have a direct relationship to a legislator who has requested you.

Generally interns answer the phone, reply to letters, and help serve their legislator. Office skills are helpful.

Application
