London Study Program

Tour Group Details
Chambers College has places for 14 students and/or parents for the Sixth London Study Program. We will be staying at the Highbury Centre in London. The tour is hosted and conducted by Steve and Teri Ong. The tour includes 14 days and 12 nights, and is tentatively scheduled for April 5-18, 2011.

The Trip Itinerary and Courses
We feature English instructors and guides who will be lecturing on British history and fine arts. Students will receive up to 8 hours of college credit for an integrated study of art, music, English history, and theology. Final papers are completed upon return.bench
This year’s London program includes HI 311 History of the Reformation in England (3 cr.) and FA 202 Biblical Foundations of Fine Arts (3 cr.) as preparatory to the London trip. The cost of the courses is included in the total package. These classes meet on Wednesdays from January- March,2011. The other two hours credit (HI 312 and FA 202) are gained on the trip by keeping a journal. You may travel to London without attending the courses, but there is no reduction in price for not taking the courses.

The Tour Itinerary
Past itineraries have included two concerts by London symphonic orchestras, Agatha Christie’s play The Mousetrap, Tower of London, Hampton Court, Wesley’s Chapel, Bunhill Cemetery, National Gallery of Art, The National Portrait Gallery, British Museum, British Library, day trip to Cambridge and a day of sightseeing, Baroque concert at St. Martin's-in-the-Field, river cruise on the Thames, tour bus ride of London, and other sites and events as time permits. We attend all church services at the Metropolitan Tabernacle (Spurgeon’s Church). We spend one day in the Evangelical Library with the leather bound books doing final research on the course papers.london

Price and payment deadlines
The total price will be $2,800 if registered by January 15 ($2,900 after January 15). This price includes round trip airfare from Denver, all travel in London, room, all meals, event tickets, trip to Cambridge. The non-refundable deposit is $1,000. Final full payment is due March 1. Refund schedule after January 15- 50%; after March 1- no refund.
The tour is open to parents as well as high school and college students. We have been able to take all applicants on previous tours. Applications for the London Study of Chambers College can be requested from our offices.
